How did u all do it? I have to work 40 hrs to make a living but I want to go to nursing school. I also have 2 children so my daycare options after 7pm are limited. What can I do any suggestions? I make good money now so I don't qualify for anything but student loans. I just want a career change and do something meaningful.. please help :)

WOW!!! I am impressed with all of you that went to school while working, kids, and the whole nine yards!!! I was lucky enough to not have to work while going through school and it was still hard to juggle 2 kids, husband and all that comes with it. MY HAT IS OFF TO YOU ALL!!:yeah:

I'm not sure it can be done with kids. My sister went to Xray school in a community college program that is very similar to nursing school in terms of classroom time, clinicals and study time. She worked nights as an aide at a facility for troubled teenagers, nights mostly were quiet enough to study as the youngsters were good sleepers. She worked every weekend night and often went straight from work to school and slept a few hours in the afternoon. She never had a day off for 2 years. The job paid the rent and expenses, she lived frugally, and did fine.

You people are amazing! I love these kinds of threads because it gives me hope and motivates me. I have two kids, one is 4 1/2 and the other is almost 1 years old. And I work part time. It is hard....adding school, nursing school, on top of that seems impossible. But I know I can do it. I will miss a lot, but it will all be worth it I think.
