I have my final shift with my preceptor later this week. She has been amazing, and I am very grateful for everything she has taught me. I would like to thank her, but a card seems so insufficient. I was thinking about a small gift of appreciation, but I don't want to seem like I am bribing her to pass me either. I feel pretty confident that she will pass me, but would like some ideas of a way to thank her in addition to a card.
How have students thanked you that have been preceptors?

my clinical group always took our instructor out to eat lunch and gave a gift or gift card with a card once we were there. is it possible for you if you still want to give your instructor a gift that you're able to do so after you get your grade? :)

On my last shift, I got mine a card and some chocolates, and brought a cake for everyone on the floor to share.

I went to a place called Things Remembered, http://www.thingsremembered.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Home_10001_9951?fcref=gglp&kw=Things_Remembered
My preceptor *loved* tea, I bought her a personalized mug that said her name and "Thank You" and a box of tea, She seemed to like it. :-)
Congrats on being done!

There is nothing wrong with thanking a preceptor. If you feel like giving a small gift...keep it simple ex: candle, sm gift card to Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks:nurse:

I usually see gift cards to dunkin donuts/starbucks, sometimes chocolates or small gift basket of bath products along with a card.
