How are the salaries in USA?

Hello, I would like to know what is the average salary of a nurse in USA.

In my country the salaries are really low so I'm starting to consider USA.

Are you a DR. RN or LVN. I'm confused at the name.

Your question is way too broad. You'd be much better off if you focused on a certain region of the US, since our nation is so huge.

Some experienced RNs in certain US states earn as little as $17 hourly. Other RNs in specific US states are earning $50 hourly. What you earn is dependent upon the cost of living in the specific geographic region.

So, again I ask: "Which part of the US would you like to explore further with regard to pay and salary?"

I would like to stay on the east coast.

I have the italian title of Doctor in Nursing Sciences.

I don't know what is the equivalent in USA.

Then to answer a question about salaries would be very hard to do. Have you tired salary.com to see if you can get an idea?

Specializes in Assisted Living, Med-Surg/CVA specialty.

I'm a new grad RN (Associate's Degree) and I make $22.52 an hour + differential. I work at a local hospital.

I work in Maryland.

I see, so would you say that nurses are payed decently in Maryland?

Or are they on the same salary level of cleaners and bus drivers as in Italy?

Well, I work in the eastern shore of Maryland, not on the western shore which is where Baltimore/Washington, DC are located (I am about 2.5-3 hours from there). I don;t know what they pay over there.

And I'd also like to say, you shouldn't just be looking at salary. Most places with higher salaries have a higher cost of living.

But in general can you live a decent life with the salary of a nurse?

In the US, nursing is considered a "middle income" occupation.

Like OP siad you have to take into the cost of living. New RN's hre in ca. make start at around 30ish an hr. But you also will pay $$$ for rent $850 1brm apt or so upwards of $2500 2-3 brm. The price of home here are in the median of $400,000 for a 2 bedroom.

I make 27.11 and have been a nurse for almost 3 years. I made 76k last year.
