How pushy is too pushy?

I had an interview on Monday for a great job. The woman who interviewed me said she was hoping to make a decision soon and would 'most likely' get back to me by Friday.

Would it be too pushy of me to call her tomorrow if I don't hear from her?

No not really. You want the job, so go for it! Good luck.

I would not think so if you waited until early afternoon. I would not call real early but calling back would let them know you are interested in the job still. Good luck!!

I always follow up after an interview, especially if I'm really interested. I also will send an email immediately after the interview thanking the interviewer for his/her time and reinforcing that I look forward to speaking with the interviewer again. It also doesn't hurt to add that I believe that both the unit/facility and I have much to offer each other!

In addition, if you are interviewed by the manager, there are always unexpected problems that pop up and he/she may be bogged down and not realize the expected time frame has elapsed. A little nudge doesn't hurt a thing.

Good luck!

She said Friday? Wait until Monday afternoon. Monday morning is a zoo.

If it was the job I really wanted, I would be calling by Friday afternoon - "just to touch base" (Maybe state you have been away from the phone and worried you had missed her call earlier).

Going back to LTC? so soon? Ya know, nothing has changed in our little world to make the world a bright sunny place to be. Tee Hee :uhoh3:

I didnt even have an actual interview for my new job, but I phoned and spoke to the manager, them personally called in to drop off my application and spoke to other nurses, loved the place and finally I am getting a job offer. I was hesitant at being regarded as too keen but I really wanted the job.

I have read in interviewing books that to call is okay. I have found that managers get very busy and just forget to get back. So if you have and say "I really want to work in your unit...........................etc. etc." reminding them of who you are and what you applied for, they usually say "sure..............." and make further arrangements. If you want the job, you have to press in. Good Luck!

Yeah I know nothing has changed,Nascar, but I miss LTC.

I sent an email to one of the two women who was at the interview thanking her for her time. I was going to wait until Monday morning to call but the phone just rang and it was the administrator who had interviewed me. She said her week was crazy, the upcoming week was just as bad, but then she scheduled a second meeting with me and one of the current management nurses for Friday! Woowoo...wish me luck, light a candle, say a prayer.....

Well best of luck to you. From reading all your past LTC posts, I know you are a good strong LTC nurse who, like many of us just get fed up w/ all the stupid federal/coorporate BS & rules. If only they would just let us take care of people!:monkeydance:
