Hey everyone! I started MSN in Education program May 2014 and just turned in a paper to complete my 3rd class. I have 14 more weeks to complete 2 credit hours for the semester but will definitely excel and try to complete 2 more classes. The new curriculum is keeps changing for the MSN program. Its crazy but I pray that I stay the course and don't get the short end of the stick. I really wish I didn't have to write so many papers. My last paper was 17 pages long! UGGH! Overall I am still pleased with program and can't wait till its over!

Some days I am good to go, other days I feel entirely lost and lonely

I am going to start the MSN program at WGU in Feb. 2015. How is everyone doing? What is the actual layout of the program? Are there instructors actually lecturing in class?
Thanks for your help and good luck to all!!!

I'm doing a hybrid. I started in the old program, but my mentor told me I could change to the new capstone program, so I did that. It meant pulling my last class of this term and switching it with 2 2-credit classes that I had 3 weeks total to complete. Still waiting to hear if I passed the last task of the last class. Then, my last term starts next week, and I'll have 8 more credits (3 classes) to do. The field experience and the two capstone courses.

I start in January for MSN in Leadership. A 17 pg paper sounds daunting! What is your academic background? Did you have extensive experience with paper writing? Is this the typical length for papers in this program? Do they work you up to this length or is it long papers from the beginning?
Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get a handle on all of this!

No, not typical length for papers. All of my papers have been between 4-8 pages (not counting title and reference pages). I expect my capstone paper will be long, but I can't imagine any other assignment that would require more than 10 pages. What I've found is that they appreciate conciseness - as long as you follow the rubric exactly, you will be fine.
