How much will the nursing program affect my sports watching?

Published

Silly question, but I just wanted to ask.

Im applying for the nursing program at my college for Summer semester. I hear the nursing program is a lot of work and time studying.

You guys find yourself having to work and study a lot that it keeps you from watching sports or do anything?

Summer semester is when the NBA playoffs are and if the Cavaliers are playing that night, that's all I'll be able to focus on, lol.

I remember seeing classmates watching Lakers in class. It was an auditorium so it appears completely natural - until they jumped in excitement.

That is good to hear. I've been hearing how you need to prepared to have no life, and I was sad at the thought of giving up watching football on Sundays when I enter Nursing School next year. I almost *almost* wished for a lockout in 2011 so I wouldn't miss any of the action lol.

:p

Yea you will be able to study and work and watch sports and drink beer. You can always pick up the book during commercials instead of changin' channels (unless your watching more than one game).

My 49ers are coming back in a few seasons...you watch! ;)

I too was asking this question, thanks for posting.

If my team is playing, I dont even think I can force myself to study during commercials, lol

9ers are okay. Vernon Davis was a beast in my FF team.

Also, lol Lane Kiffen

Let's put it this way. I'm starting the final semester of my BSN next week... Graduating in May, and my xbox360 saw more play time during the last 4 semesters than any other time. Don't listen when ppl say you HAVE to give up your life during school, that's only true for some ppl.... Not all. It's all up to the individual. For me, xbox and stuff kept me from stressing. Btw I highly recommend madden 2010. And I didn't fail any class, didn't even get any C's. And yet more than half the ppl I started with have failed out, and a lot of them DID do nothing but study and stress out.... All I can say for sure is, be careful about telling ppl you don't study all the time. It might make some mad, especially if they study a lot and don't do well.

If you budget your time during school you can still have a life. While I was getting my BSN I had plenty of time to watch sports, be outdoors, party, and chase women.

What's up guys? I'm a newly accepted BSN student at a local university here and I'm curious if any of you guys train MMA or BJJ? I'm curious if its still possible to go to my BJJ class at least once a week while going through nursing school.

good to hear! i start nursing school next month. i can't miss watching sports. i watch espn religiously, lol.

Unfortunately, I'll be doing a nights & weekends section for nursing school or I won't be going at all. I wouldn't mind just DVRing the games so I could watch them when I get back from my Sunday clinicals, except I can't exactly DVR my season tickets. :(

My wife is still trying to decide if she's going to the games without me and hope I can make the second half for 1pm kickoffs or if she wants to sell our seats on the days I can't go to the game.

Wow, 2nd semester is rough. Intermediate nursing, health assessment, and gero takes up almost all my time. Ive really cut back on gaming to focus on developing my fundamentals.
