I am a new LVN in Fort Worth, Texas (30 miles west of Dallas). There's no state income tax deducted from our paychecks in Texas.

I have a full-time job doing weekend double shifts at a nursing home and a part-time job at a psychiatric hospital. Overall, I earn about $4,000 monthly after taxes between the two jobs. One job pays me $18.50 hourly and the other job pays $18.00 per hour.

People have differing deductions and tax rates, with single people having differing deductions than those with children, etc. Differing areas around the country pay differently. For instance an LPN in Connecticutt makes more than they do in Florida. Also even locally LPNs in LTC make more than LPNs in hospitals because there is a demand here for LPNs in LTC. Also states with income tax vs. those states without make the deductions differently. Some people take out money for 401/403K plans and others don't.

Perhaps using a source like salary.com would help you more accurate information that would help your personal situation.

Or going to the forum of the state in which you live.

You're not going to get decent information with your question. In my opinion. I'll mind my own business though and allow you to ask your question. :)

I'm in Oregon; claim only myself as a dependent and take home around $2200-2300/month; more of course if I do 1-2 OTs.

I can't tell you for sure as I will just be starting my first LPN job. My rate will be $18/hr during the week and $19/hr for weekends. Not bad for just starting. I live in PA.
