How much was your lpn program?

Published

Even though I know my program was highly over priced reading these threads makes me feel like I paid more than most people do. My program was $28,000 and I graduated in 2010. How much was your program and what year did you graduate?

$10,500. including books @ a state vocational school. checked out a for profit program that wanted $23,000 which had a great reputation. but just couldn't swing it especial w/all the rumors saying lpns were going to be phased out; i just couldn't see myself getting further into debt. the vocational school had a sketchy vibe about it and many of my classmates felt the instructor could care a less if we learned anything...just in it for the paycheck. our graduation was lame. rushed, no hat, no candles...nothing just a pin if you ordered one and a certificate. i guess sometimes you do get what you pay for.

$13,000, graduated in 2010. In north-central pa

Specializes in peds, allergy-asthma, ob/gyn office.

About $2200 in 1992, plus uniforms.

i graduated june 2013.. i paid $2500 ..the program was 10 months :)

33k for 14 months, finished last Dec 2012. I'm in SoCal. Includes uniforms, books, registration, fingerprinting, and license. Still think it's a lot for an LVN program.

$5300. I graduated in June '13, in Okla.

$3600 2004 we actually had 2 students move to my town from different states to attend the nursing program because it was a lot cheaper than where they lived. One moved away from her kids and husband 1000 miles away and lived with her sister during school. The other just lived a state away and would dive back home on weekends.

Specializes in Outpatient/Clinic, ClinDoc.

Inflation is great, isn't it? I went to a CC in 1987 for my LVN - cost me maybe $200 in tuition, not including uniforms and books.. then went to LVN to RN for about $2K, then my recent RN to BSN was $3500. 33K for LPN school? Yikes, I'd never even have tried at those prices.. =(

(yes, we walked 10 miles in the snow and.. GET OFF MY LAWN!!).. =)

I know!!! I wish I had researched more but it was convenient for me cus it was closer. But after finishing the program.. It was not worth 33k. The school admins sucked! And as far as our exposure and practice.. I feel like I learned and experienced more at my current job!

My pre-req's, my ADN program, and RN-BSN program totals 25k.

roughly $8,000 not including prerequisites ... community college
