hello, Im interested in getting into bmcc night/weekend nursing prgm. However im basically starting from the beginning. Next week i take my CAT to get into the school then i take it from there. ive been studying very hard for the CAT assessment tests... Can anyone give me any pointers please. Im hoping to start my pre-requisites in Jan 2015... Thanks

Hey I live in Bk and I graduated last yr from lpn school...it took me about 3 months to find a good job. Some of my friends took 6 months. It's all up to how much u need this!! I started asking random ppl in da streets, once they had a scrub on!!!! I use to look at capitalist 5 times a day...I had an alarm to remind me to check for positions... go to open houses, even if u don't have the experience.... I had two job offerings and I had to choose one ..let me tell u before this I had no experience as a l.p. either.... there is an agency called quality care...it's some where in bk. I made a spreadsheet of nursing homes and would call at least 10 a day...also I subscribed to an online faxing service where I could easily fax my resume with my printer..saved me a ton of money and time ...good luck and be persistent

hey, what u are going thru is perfectly normal.. you should not be so hard on urself! Great job in finding a job, that means they see something in u to be their nurse! Ive been working for 10 months, first job out of lpn skool. My first weeks was scary but NO ONE KNEW!. You have to keep it together hun... don't let anyone know that ur nervous because some ppl love to see you fail. I use to add reminders on my cell to alert me to do certain things. for eg. if at 3 o clock ur suppose to do wound care etc etc. im still a new nurse and I say to myself if other ppl could do it, then so can I !!!! believe in urself and carry on ------->

WHY LA GUARDIA? where do u live.. why not the board of ed lpn program.. its 2500, and in 10 months ur done! i did it last year.. it tough but its the best.

listen ALOT of hospitals hire LPN's..im in nyc.. When i was doing my clinical rotation soooo many of them were LPNs and from my school.. the problem is getting in the hospital... i dont work for a hospital, i work for a clinic .. my starting is 24 an hr.. hospitals around here are the same.

i graduated june 2013.. i paid $2500 ..the program was 10 months :)

hey there.. im a recent grad with no experience as a nurse... but i have worked in hospitals before... be urself and be willing to learn.. dont give them a reason to wanna let u go.. be a team playa and dont be too pushy... DO NOT FOLLOW BAD NURSES.. u might see alot of ppl doing short cuts and u might wanna try it, but please dont.... again, i havent worked as a nurse as yet, but i have worked on the administrative side of the hospital :) I hope u get an answer from someone who has worked as a nurse :) good luck hun
