Yeah, I got suckered into the private college because it was the only way to get in the program without waiting. I think its 30,000 but if I hadn't been so desperate I would have waited. My suggestion for anyone trying to get into a school is WAIT!:thankya:

Boots21,
How are you only paying $15k for Gurnick? I'm going to Gurnick in San Mateo and it's almost $30k!

$3600 in TN total cost. Worked part time nights to pay for school out of pocket, and no waiting period, easy as pie. My two cents, LPN salaries (at least in TN) are NOT worth what some of you guys are paying for it, not even close. And if I was going to wait to go, then I'd wait for an RN school to open and go there. Good luck

Here in CA, if you want to work in the prison system, they are starting new LPN's at $4700 a month with a $3500 sign on bonus and an awesome benefit package that will pay for your RN program.

Just curious what areas of CA are you talking about? What is the cost of housing?
Northern CA is where I am at. As far as housing costs...it is not cheap. My husband and I pay $850 for a very small one bedroom in Oakland.

ohio-butler tech $13,000.
however we have been swarmed with private colleges so people who could not pass all the pre-req's, or the entrance tests have the option to pay $33,000 for Brown Mackie. on average private colleges are a complete rip off considering that as a new grad lpn th starting pay in Ohio is around $16.00 an hr. IMO if you could not pass a entrance test o Pre-req then you will most likely not be able to pass nursing classes so you will acquire debt and still not finish.
