How much is your degree costing you?

Published

List the type of degree, and how much you have/will pay. I'm not counting books, uniforms, supplies, ATI/HESI, or any other random fees.

I'm in an ADN program at a CC. I already have a degree, so much of my stuff came over with me.

For my pre-nursing courses (mostly sciences), I paid about $4,000

For my nursing courses, I paid about $4,500

about $20K I think for the Accelerated BSN program at a state university.

Specializes in Labor and Delivery.

Thats so funny I almost was gonna see if you go to my school. My school is kind of the same stats, a private Catholic University, and I pay about the same maybe a little less after grants and stuff. :) I don't think its too bad but it has made me question taking on any more debt with getting my master's.

Specializes in CT ICU, OR, Orthopedic.

MY BSN was about $40K, but my DNP is well over $100k

everything free for me nothing out of pocket.. scholarships are the best. and i havent taken out any loans... 3,000 a year thats it.. cc

i will be in a private college adn and the tuition is 44,000 that includes everything.. I will only have to pay 20,000 because of scholarship and veteran discount

Without scholarships, a little over $15000 for my last two years (BSN). With scholarships, closer to $9000. My first two years (community college) were completely covered by scholarships. So with fees, books, tuition, uniforms/supplies, it was only $9k (plus things like food, gas, etc) for nursing school.

Specializes in Midwifery, Women's Health, PCP.

Including nine hours of pre-reqs, I'll be spending about a total of $8000 just for tuition for my ADN at a CC.

Specializes in Neonatal ICU.

I'm attending an Accelerated BSN-MSN program at a private, not-for-profit university and the tuition for the upcoming year is about $33K. The BSN portion is 2 years long. They do have us take 3 graduate courses during the BSN portion so that we graduate with 9 grad credits under our belt already, but I don't know how much more the MSN portion will be. I don't think I want to think about that part just yet. :-)

I go to Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA :) Everyone pretty much just calls it The Mount. It has a great reputation of the degree of nurses that come from the school so I'm happy to have a bit of a name to back up my education.

I know what you mean about the added cost of graduate school. But I am considering it reagardless. There's one about an hour from here that is $49,000 for the whole program.

Most of my pre reqs didn't cost me anything. I have paid about $1400 out of pocket for books, uniforms and supplies. I also got a 10k loan that I will have to pay for eventually, so my ADN will cost me $11,400.

Specializes in Nursing Education, CVICU, Float Pool.

Small to mid-sized ADN program. Total estimated cost of Program, including books, uniforms, supplies, tuition, and other school specific fees was listed as $11,361. We hit this figure on a program cost estimation sheet.

Specializes in Med-Surg.

ADN program admits twice per year generally 75 in the fall and 50 in the spring. Tuition 1500 per semester books first semester were about 1500 but that covers most of the 4 semesters, no books will have to be bought in 2nd semester, 2 extra books in 3rd and 1 in 4th. All ATI tests and and study books are included in tuition. So about 6000 for the degree in total excluding books, ect.
