It would be rare for a CRNA to make $400K working for/employed by a hospital or ASC working as a staff CRNA. Area of the country has a lot to do with salaries, but insurance compensation and hospital subsidies also have a large impact on anesthesia salaries. The larger more urban/"desirable" places to live often do not pay as high unless the cost of living is substantially greater in that area. Then you have to figure in cost of living in comparison to your salary.

I'm finding all of this extremely hard to believe and funny how it's always someone's friend or someone they know making an extremely ridiculous amount of money. It's never the person posting the information.

You know what nevermind. If you can't find the meaning of how to float a swan on the internet then you won't find salary info either.

I was going to answer your question until I read this comment

I have a question. The salaries people post here are based on how many hours? Is it 40 hour?

crnaTX....My question is whether these salaries of 190k are with OT and call or without that?In simple words,With OT and call, can you earn like 40k or 50k more with such base salaries?

It depends on the position. Almost all of the higher paying CRNA positions include doing call.

One more question. Is this call within 40 hours a week or outside of it?

An important variable in comparing compensation is retirement contributions. Private groups often contribute 15-20% of salary to pension/profit sharing.

For example:

$160,000 salary + 16% pension/profit sharing $25,600.00 = $185,600.00

Compared to a 401K plan with 50% match up to 5% contribution:

$170,000 salary + 50% of 5% $4250.00 = $174250.00

There are large number of variables in CRNA compensation. Some salaries include call, some don't; some include weekends, some don't; some expect you to work until cases are done with no extra money, some have OT; some CRNAs bill for their cases so only get paid when they are in the OR with time between cases, on vacation etc all uncompensated.

I doubt any CRNA is working FT for $3000.00 every 2 weeks.

Call shifts are outside of normal OR times, and it varies by facility and the number of staff as to how often the call shifts are. The best way to see examples is to look at job postings on gasworks.com.

Yes.It is outside OR hours. But since mostly there is a day off after call, that means you work 40 hours still a week.Am I right?

Does Average salaries posted by AANA include OT ?I heard many CRNAs working 60hours or 2 jobs. Why the Average salaries are not increased then?

40hrs and overtime are often only relevant in large ACT practices. You get paid to cover the OR during regularly scheduled cases and then depending on the contract you get call pay on top of that.

There may or may not be call pay and the normal work week can be 20-60 hours or more a week. CRNA jobs and hours are generally not like nursing job hours.
