How much a CRNA really makes ?

Does Average salaries posted by AANA include OT ?I heard many CRNAs working 60hours or 2 jobs.Why the Average salaries are not increased then?

As previously stated each job is different and each contract is different. You are trying to make CRNA similar to nursing jobs where you work X shifts for X amount money and it isn't as easy as that when comparing most CRNA jobs.

1. You need to find out the value for your anesthesia services. Are you working in place that has to subsidize the anesthesia department because of the small amount of cases or is this a place where you are more like a factory worker and you are always busy. Someone is billing off of/or for those CRNAs and it is often in excess of what the CRNA is getting paid.

2. There are a lot of call time at smaller hospitals where you either take call from home or you have a call room where you hang out/sleep until someone call/consults anesthesia.

3. Only larger anesthesia practices will generally have excact set schedules where you can work 7-3 or 3-11 etc., so it makes it hard to simply compare jobs. Keywords to look for in CRNA posting is average number of hours worked per week, average number of surgical cases, and how often is call required.

Thanks for clarification. I saw some listings on gaswork.com. That said Monday to Thursday 7 to 5 with call every 10th day.Some said Monday to Friday 7 to 3 with call very 7th day.I thought a CRNA can do a locum day at other facility on Friday night or Saturday.
