I want information on How to study BSCN in Canada and how to work as a Canadian nurse,I need the admission info and info on NCLEX exam

Specializes in Critical Care, ED, Cath lab, CTPAC,Trauma.

The NCLEX is for the USA...CRNE is Canada

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

NCLEX will not be used in Canada until 2015. Currently to train for BSN you will need to apply to universities in the province of Canada you wish to live and work. As an International student the fees will be very high. If already a nurse you will have to meet provincial college of RN requirements and currently pass CRNE which is held 3 times a year here in Canada. Then the issue will be deciding on what route you plan on living and working in Canada being aware that nursing at the moment is not on the federal skilled list meaning you may need a employer willing to go the temp work permit route.

Please i want to know if i can write CRNE here in nigeria,will i be the one to apply for job and visa myself?

Currently can only be sat in Canada. Yes you need to apply for jobs yourself and they need to supply letter of employment and you then apply for medical and temp work permit

Things are pretty hard at the moment and unless you have eligibility to sit CRNE employers will not look at you. Also provincial fees are high so you really need to decide which province you wish to live and work in and then look to see what jobs are available and ask about jobs in that area

Thanks for the post,but am about to process my application in Ontario at the,College Of Nurses Of Ontario and i was sent the application form which is going to cost $678.00 for a Registered Nurse in Ontario.....if my application was successful,will i be a registered Nurse,because in the application,it says i am going to be a Registered Nurse before i can write the CRNE in Canada.will been a registered nurse help me for job opportunities in Ontario and how many months will i use to be a CRNE in all province in Canada,also how can i apply for a nursing job in Ontario so i can apply for a visa here in Nigeria....also what province are u in Canada if there is anything u can tell me concerning ur province requiremnet concerning nurses.

Until you pass CRNE you will not be a registered nurse in the province CRNE is the final part of the registration process. Depending on their assessment of your application they will either give you eligibility to sit CRNE or require you to attend some form of assessment before they make decision allowing you to sit CRNE. Employers will only look at you if you have eligibility to sit CRNE or have passed exam. Some provinces will not issue a license until in Canada with a legal permit to live and work in the country like TWP or PR

Specializes in Home Care.

What is your immigration status?

I have not applied for Visa.........will they sent me a letter from the province to tender at the embassy here in Nigeria to write the exam in Canada or what?or i apply for the visa first?

may i ask what is TWP or PR!

I suggest checking out the CIC website and look at the different routes to take to move to Canada. A travel permit may be given if you show proof of having to take CRNE but I can not guarantee that will happen. Usually you have to provide proof that you will return home after your visit

TWP=Temp Work Permit

PR= Permanent Resident
