How many times am I allowed to take the nclex-pm exam in cali?

One of my friends said if I fail it for the 3rd time, I must repeat the whole course? Is this true? I hope not.

As far as I am aware for the state of California you have unlimited attempts to do NCLEX

Unlimited attempts. Worked with someone who had taken the test multiple times (and I mean more than 5 or 6, although I don't remember exactly how many times) and she was getting ready to take it yet again. She never had to do anything other than submit another application. I'm sure they knew her well.
