How many Programs did you apply to??

Hi everyone,

I am working towards getting into a AA program here in the Bay Area. I just wanted to know how many different programs did you apply to???

How many times did you have to apply?

What was your GPA?

Thanks :idea::uhoh3::heartbeat

Applied to 2 programs, only once. Accepted first time. GPA was 3.7

Hi there, Copying and pasting from another thread w/same question:

In 2007 I applied to 2 master's programs and got rejected, 2 BSN programs (rejected to 1 and waitlisted for 1.5 years for the other), 2 JC's (didn't get name picked in lottery for 1 and the other waitlisted for 2 years), then the ABSN program I applied to and got accepted so that makes 7 applications. When I first started, I asked DH what my "magic" number was and he said "8". He was off by 1. I also applied to two more JC's for 2008 but haven't heard back yet. So I guess in total if you count 2007/2008 that was 9 applications. In the end, it is all worth it when the letter comes...btw, i'm in east bay area.

I began nursing school in January of 2006. I applied to 1 ADN program for Fall 2005 b/c I completed all their requirements. I was waitlisted at #165 and they only accepted 40-50!! I'm not very lucky (lottery system).

For Spring 2006, I applied to 2 BSN programs, got accepted to both, nursing pre-reqs GPA= 3.85, overall GPA= 3.7; TEAS test score= 93% (some programs require you to take this entrance exam and award points based on score).

Apply to as many schools as possible, because it's very competitive. Be ready to move away if you have to. At my college, the average GPA of students that get accepted into the program get higher and higher. Good luck!

I applied to 2 ADN programs, 2 BSN programs and 3 ELMSN programs. Was accepted to all EXCEPT the ADN programs.

My 1st semester I was eligible I applied to 1 ADN program

The following semester I applied to 4 ADN programs

The next semester I applied to 4 ADN programs

This semester I have applied to 3 ADN programs...

Still waiting for an acceptance letter:banghead:

I feel your pain. I am waitlisted for Yuba and have applied to three ADN in my area. If only I had'nt gotten married. I could have moved anywhere. Oh the things we sacrafice for love.:redbeathe

Yeah I am not really able to move around too because we have a house and the my husband has a really great job (which is supporting us right now) and we really can't move.

They are hard choices to have to make but there is NO way I could leave for 2 years and not have the immediate support of my husband while going to NS!

We are already having a hard time with waiting to have children! We have been together for 8 years and we keep telling ourselves that it will only be a few more years yet I still am not in after 2 years of waiting! It's really hard to have to set something like that to the side when it seems to be calling your name!!:banghead:

I applied to two programs 1 ASN program at a community college that used a lotto system, and 1 BSN program at the state college that I am attending now that selected their students by merit; I got in my first try. I had an over-all GPA of 3.6 and a pre-req GPA of 3.8

3 entry MSNs. :p
