How many jobs to apply to at one hospital?

I'm getting ready to relocate to a new state and have applied for three jobs so far, two within the same hospital. It's been a couple weeks, so I'm pretty sure I'm not going to get a call about Job 1 at Hospital 1. I just had an interview for Job 2 with Hospital 1 yesterday, and while it felt like a good interview and I'm excited for the job, I can see being passed over due to it being a new role for me, albeit in a specialty I'm familiar with. I also have an interview scheduled for the job with Hospital 2 in a couple weeks.

Would it look terrible to apply for a third job at Hospital 1? As I said, I'm not super confident that I will end up being the first choice for Job 2, and the manager has interviews well into next week. A job was posted two days ago that fits my interests and relates to my recently earned MSN. I do want to start working pretty much as soon as I move, so I don't want to leave myself with no options if neither of my current applications pans out - but I don't want to look flaky or indecisive either.

Specializes in ED, med-surg, peri op.

In my last job search I applied to 3 jobs at the one hospital. They all interviewed me. I don’t think the hiring managers knew about the other jobs. It worked well because the asked the exact same questions at each interview. Just apply!

Specializes in Ambulatory Care, Community Health, HIV.

There's nothing wrong with applying to multiple jobs that fit your interests. Like you said, there is no guarantee they will offer you job 2. Go for it!
