How many hours would you work?

If you needed to work only 8 hours a week in order to make ends meet, how many hours per week would you choose to work?

I'd probably work 3 8s instead of the 3 12s I do now. I love my job, but it can get exhausting.

I'd work up to 24 hours. You never know when you'll need to work more than 8 hours to make ends meet.

I have chosen to only work 24 hours a week. I have already semi retired. I just work for fun and friends

I am casual and could not be happier. I try to work 2-3 12 hour shifts, which puts me at full time, but for me I love to work. And to know that I don't have to work is a huge incentive too. I can have off when the kids have activities but still work and feel like I am doing something with my life besides being a wife and mom only... I enjoy to work...

If I could afford it I would work 8 hours a week only, or none at all.

I like being with patients and the company of colleagues, So I'd like to go in voluntary. I would get to spend time chatting to patients, feeding, making beds running errands around the hospital. I'd get to do the simple things, have no responsibility and get away form being shouted at by anyone.

8. Not a minute more, if that would pay my bills. That would be my dream come true--that, or not working at all!

Being that I have young kids.. I would say 8 hours a week is ideal. It is enough to get away, enough for some spending $, and enough to keep your brain functioning. If I did not have kids, like in the past, I thought 24 hours a week would be ideal. Enough to not be bored, but not so much that you feel stressed and feel like you don't have time to do fun stuff. This is of course, is if $ is not an issue for whatever the reason.

I am currantly SAHMing it, but it isn't really the best thing for ME. I want to work a little... And am working on getting a very part time job.

I'd only work the bare minimum 8-hour shift per week (less if I could get away with it).

I can honestly and openly admit that I don't like to be occupied by work because I'm somewhat lazy. I'm a hard worker and colleagues tend to enjoy working with me because I help them out, but I secretly crave to be paid to do absolutely nothing.

Shoot I'm hoping that Ed is gonna pull into my driveway with the balloons, roses and Champagne---along with that nice big check!!! LOL I am a single mom and struggle and always have. Not even close to making ends meet....forget get ahead--what is that!!! LOL But if I was ever blessed with such luck of $5,000 a week for life.........I do enjoy being a nurse. Like another poster said--I love the patients and how we as nurses can really truly make their lives better. Its the politics, the BS, the other stuff besides just taking care of the patient that make it hard. It might be nice to work two 8-hour days a week to stay sane, contribute to mankind and maybe then donate all of my paycheck to a needy family or charity.....

Hands down 40hrs+ a week. Love what I do.

I am only working about 10-12 hours a week, but I go in every day M-F, weekends off. The day is cut up a bit, but it's a good thing for me to work every day. Gets me out and with people, plus helps me keep my skills up. It's good for my kids to see mom doing something professionally, too. I spent a lot of years at home and it started to take its toll!
