I'm less than 2 hours from freedom! My students finished yesterday, and today is just a staff workday. It's been a fun year working with these kids, but I can't wait to be back in a hospital and working obstetrics again.
Good for you! I worked OB for nearly 25 years, and I hope that you enjoy it as much as you anticipate. when I have a gad day in my office, I remind myself "I could be on the night shift, back in the labor room, on New Years Eve, short staffed, of course, and there is a full moon". Can you tell that I was burned out, LOL? It is nice to be in the school system, where I don't have to work year round, there are no arguments about whose turn it is to work this holiday or that, no shift work, and no weekends. I missed so many holidays with my kids when they were little, by having to spend my holidays in the hospital with someone elses kids. But, there are many districts that will not hire a school nurse with fewer than 10 years of experience, anyway, so I would not have gotten a job here when they were little. I wish you the best of luck!
You all hang in there ! Only a few more days left and it will FLY ! If I would of stayed I would of had a whooping 18 more days of school Left ! We get out June 19th !
I had not realized that you had quit your job,I thought it was the end of the school year for you. I hope that the hospital is all that you had hoped for, and then some!
