How Many Classes?

Published

I'm curious??? How many pre reqs classes do you take per semester? I am taking 4, I am just being nosy?

One of my very good friends is a mother of 4 and two semesters ago she took 22.5 credits in one semester!!! It was a combination of campus, online, and accelerated classes. She did this so we could go through the RN program together. I helped her study a lot because I had already taken all of those classes and by a miracle she passed all of them. The people in the admissions office had a pool going for whether she was going to pass or not. I do not recommend taking that many at once lol!

WOW! I would have died. The most I've taken in one semester is 17 and that was tough on its own.

I think you can definitely take full semesters that include the nursing prereqs. It's hard but not impossible. I take 14 to 17 hours a semester with at least two of my nursing prereqs in each semester. I want to get out of school ASAP, so I'd rather take more and deal with it than spread it out over a few more semesters.

My husband took 4 classes (14 hours including a&p AND micro) this semester and works full time. Back when I was doing pre-Reqs, the most I ever took was around 14-16 hours while working full time plus two kids. That was all I could handle! :)

In previous semesters I've taken 3 while working full time. Next semester will be my first semester not really working (10-15 hours a week) and I'm actually wondering how many I should take. I have mostly Science pre reqs to check off, so with spreading that out over 2013 I'll have to take 4-5 classes a semester (plus A&P I&II over a accelerated 16 week session over the summer). I'm looking forward to the challenge!

Man, you guys make me feel like a loser!

My first semester, I took 5 classes: Psychology, Sociology, Human Development, English Composition, and Human Sexuality.

My second semester, I took only 4: Statistics, Communications, History of Rock Music, and Philosophy.

Now I am taking 4 classes AGAIN: English H, Humanities, Anthropology, and Women in Arts.

:( No science courses, ugh! You guys inspire me!

Wow...super heroes! I have plugged along taking two classes each semester. This term I only have one, but it is my last prereq and requires clinicals and other extra stuff. Feels like 6 credit hours this term instead of 3! I don't work but I am a stay at home mom of two young boys. I took a little at a time to time my starting the nursing program with their starting elementary school. I had to wait, so I just stretched it out. I can't imagine taking a full load of science classes. Or taking a challenging bio class with a college level math!

I work full time and have a second grader and preschooler, and I just signed up for Chemistry and Sociology(online), so 8 credits. I'm kind of nervous because this will be my first semester with more than one class, so its all starting to feel real! Especially considering my only class this semester is Elem. Algebra. Wish me luck! lol

I work full time 40+ hrs m-f and have 2 small kids (4 and 1) and am dying taking 2 classes!! Thank god my pre-reqs are almost done!!!
