Oct 26, 201213 yr I'm curious??? How many pre reqs classes do you take per semester? I am taking 4, I am just being nosy?
Oct 26, 201213 yr Experts You take as many as you can reasonably handle! This summer, I took 4 classes (12 credits). Right now, I'm taking 6 classes (17 credits). I am currently not working, so I have enough time to devote to my studies. I am done with my pre-reqs at the end of this semester and I'm going to work on classes towards the BSN while I'm waiting to start nursing school (hopefully Fall 2013 or Spring 2014). I'm planning on 4 classes in the Spring.
Oct 26, 201213 yr I'm curious??? How many pre reqs classes do you take per semester? I am taking 4, I am just being nosy?Right now I'm taking three classes but next semester I'm taking 17 credits (5 classes). After next semester I can apply for the BSN program here and hopefully be starting spring 14
Oct 26, 201213 yr I always took 15-18 credit hours. I don't work and have a 12 year old, so he's not much trouble.
Oct 26, 201213 yr currently 4 in pre-reqs. With two children under 5, one special needs and hubby gone all the time. It's about as much as I can reasonably handle!
Oct 27, 201213 yr I am always a full time student, so at least 12 credits. I pair 2 more challenging courses w/ 3 easier courses. I work too, about 24-30 hours a week.
Oct 27, 201213 yr I started midyear through, so I couldn't apply the year I started, so I got lots out of the way, and I have 4 total classes left I need to take that are prerequisite. I'm taking another 2 that are normally taken in the program (stats and technical writing). Therefore I only have 2 classes I'm taking a term. It's been nice taking so few. I was full time for a while though.
Oct 27, 201213 yr This semester I am taking 4 classes (12 credits). I have 2 kids (1 and 2) and honestly, I don't think I could handle more than 4!
Oct 27, 201213 yr I take 3 (11 credits)...chem, AP1, and developmental psychology. Next semester I am also taking 3..micro, AP2, and nutrition, Then I apply to nursing school! I just got a job at the hospital though and I start next week so I hope I can balance my new schedule!
Oct 27, 201213 yr the most I ever took was three classes at once but I tried to keep it at two. I'm married with 4 children and have a lot of other responsabilites that go with it as any monter knows. I also made sure I took EVERY possible class I could without being in the nurisng program. We have the option of taking microbiology and physiology along with the nurisng classes but there was no way I could juggle all of that so I didn't lol! I'm in my second triemester, we have class in the summer too , of the RN program and most of the people who are taking med surg with Mirco are hanging on by a threadEveryone has different circumstances that determines how many classes they take on. Take what you think you can haddle with out burning yourself out :) There is no "right" way to do it.
Oct 27, 201213 yr Author I think I can handle my load, I start in Jan.....with 4 pre req classes as I metioned before....I am a stay at home mom at the time, so I will be in school while my kids are in school and home with a few hours to study before they get home and I will have to study more once they are in bed......oh and I have 5 kiddos, lol so I know this will not be easy, but they are my main motivation so I plan to keep that in mind! I do feel my upcoming load will be pretty easy....**PYSCOLOGY**MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY**MATH**ENGLISH COMP 1
Oct 27, 201213 yr I agree, it definitely depends on your circumstances. I don't have any children, so I have more time to spare for studying. My classmate that I do a lot of study sessions with has 2 little girls, so she can only take 3 classes a semester instead of 4 or 5.This semester I'm taking Intermediate Algebra, English Comp 1, General Psych, and an art elective. Next semester I have scheduled College Algebra, English Comp 2, Developmental Psych, History (required elective), and A&P 1.
