i live in iowa and am also attending a tech school....same story, i have a year and a half wait. the good news is i will be finished with all my general classes and have clinicals only....bad news is the wait, anticipatation....decided i was going to try and score a job PT working in a clinic.....you should start your gens, can you do that? i am # 11 on the list AND AM LOOKING AT FALL 2005----YUCK. JUST GOES TOSHOW THE SMALL TOWNS ARE NOT WHERE ITS AT. GOOD LUCK-K
If you had any?I'm working around the system to get in, but I was on the wait list for 3 years, and I start my clinicals next year. I'm going to a tech school, the first year is gen ed, second year is LPN clinicals, 3rd year is RN clinicals.
Some of the wait lists in other cities in WI (where I live) are 5-7 years... Isn't that horrible? I'm already so close to being discouraged after waiting only 3 years!
I'd love to move to another state and get in right away!

My school doesn't have a waiting list. Just a lot of prereques and it's expensive. The community college down the street is cheap (I think about $60 a credit hour) and the waiting list is now 5 years. Rediculous! What are these people supposed to do while they're waiting??
Same thing here..no waiting list. You just had to pay the prereqs (enterance exam, references and interview) and hope there was a space. If not, you applied again the next time. There are quite a few schools in the area, so your chances -if you start early and pass the prereqs -are pretty good.
This was for LPN school.
wait list is 1-3 years depending on the community college and after the prereqs are completed. for now its only $18/unit. a local private school has no wait li$t-hummm i wonder why $450/unit. im choosing the private school so i can start working as an rn 1-3 years sooner.
I guess my $227.50 per credit hour doesn't sound so bad compared to yours. Although mine isn't a private school.
