I'm going to be taking a CNA course during the summer and I'm looking at two programs one is four weeks the other is six weeks. I'm leaning more to the four weeks so it'll give me more time to work during the summer before school starts again. Do you think four weeks is too short? Has anyone else done a four week program? TIA
I am taking the CNA courses this summer. It runs June 1 - 12th but we only actually meet 6 days. 8am - 4:30pm. After that we will have clinicals June 15-18th from 7am - 3pm. Then I just have to register for the test. I am so super excited. It is still three months away but I cannot stop thinking about it.
Good luck!!!
Wow! I've been reading through most of you times from start to finish, and it's really surprising! Not to be mean or anything, I'm just really really surprised.
The course I'm taking for my CNA is 6.5 months long. I start in May and end in December. I have clinicals from October until December.
But no, cool beans to those who get to get it done quick and then off to work! I kind of envy you guys!
Four weeks seems quite short to me. I am currently enrolled in my college's nursing assistant program which runs 15 hours a week for 12 weeks. I suppose a short course is alright as long as it allows you to sit the Board examination for certification and allows you enough time to properly learn the skills and proceedures.

I start mine next month and it will be 8 weeks, 3 times a week. I was trying to get into a shorter more accelerated program, but around here they're all 8 weeks+.
