  1. i think that is terrific! i also am a sahm (for almost 6 years) and just recently this past april signed up for cna night classes and i'm very very proud to say that i passed my state exam this past friday!!! woohoo!!! i had to stop and wish you good luck because its always nice to be in the same boat as a lot of other people. i had no idea how i was going to do it and if i'd even pass but i'm proud to say that not only did i pass, but i was in the top of my class! so to you and all the other sahm who are nervous but excited to start something new...you can do it!!! i wish you nothing but the best! good luck girl!
  2. oh my gosh, congrats on passing your exam!!! we knew u could do it! good luck with your interviews..let us know when you hear something.
  3. thank you again for all of those with wonderful advice and support on my situation. i wanted to let everyone know that we finally won the insurance battle!!! they paid their part and it went towards our deductable...thank the good lord! it was a long battle, but finally put to rest. i just wanted you guys to know. thank you so much!
  4. first off...good luck tomorrow!!!! i just took my state test this past friday and passed!!! so my advice for you is to definitely relax, breathe, and try to picture a resident from clinicals in front of you...stop and think about what to do first and what to do next for that resident to get the best care. i know your nervous...because let me tell you, i thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest but i stopped and took a deep breath and remembered how i took care of my residents. you'll do great! oh and i'm from indiana and my skills were: handwashing, assist to edge of bed, assist to chair, brush hair, and unoccupied open bed.
  5. Hello all! I ran across this website and thought I'd post it for whoever could use some input. I hope it helps you out! http://www.forusdocs.com/reviews/Acoustic_Stethoscope_Review.htm Have a great day!
  6. Wow 48?! I haven't started my classes yet, was suppose to this month but something came up, so i'll be starting next month...seems like forever away lol. Well I wish you the best of luck on your first day monday and you'll have to let me know how your day went!! Try to get some sleep tonight and tomorrow night, because you'll probably be too excited and nervous to sleep sunday night lol. Please keep me posted if you don't mind. Have a great weekend!
  7. Thank you for your reply! How many skills all together do you have to learn? 20-25? I know we have to memorize all of the skills because we don't know which 5 we will get right?
  8. Also, I guess it depends on the person and their way of relieving stress and of course *their job*.
  9. No offense to the people who write these article's but they obviously have a desk job and have NO CLUE what CNA work entails. I'm not a CNA yet but I have many friends who are and let me just say that NONE of them are *fat* and some have actually said they've lost weight since starting their job. Maybe they think that the healthcare industry is so stressed and over worked to where *they think* when people get off work...all they do is eat, or perhaps gain weight caused by stress...I don't know. But CNA work being the fattest job out there? Impossible!
  10. I was wondering if any of you could tell me how many skills you have to memorize for the state exam? I know you only have to do 5 skills and I know you don't get to choose but any insight would be appreciated. I've looked high and low on this website but every state is different, so I figured why not ask the people who live in Indiana . Thanks a bunch!
  11. I thought thats what you meant, but I wanted to be sure. Thank you for answering my question!
  12. I live in Indiana and I'm about to take cna classes and was wondering something, say you only work part-time 6 hours a night, does that mean after two years if I don't have one shift of ATLEAST 8 hours I have to retake the class and test again? even if I work part-time 5 days a week? or does that only mean if you DON'T work you have to put in atleast 8 hours for the year to keep your certification active? Sorry little confused.
  13. I also start mine next month, 18 days long m-f 5:00pm-11:30pm. 8 days for class and 10 days for clinicals...same time for all. Live in southern Indiana by the way.
  14. once again, thank you all for your wonderful advice! the hospital has coded the claim differently and resubmitted it...so now i just wait. i hope this gets settled shortly and i don't have to worry about this stupid bill anymore!! i will keep everyone posted. thank you again!
  15. my daughters visit with x-rays was 800 dollars. might not sound like a lot but to a household of four with one worker...800 too much. and we even have good insurance! its just the point...its ridiculous actually. dnp2004, thats just terrible what happened to that woman...seriously how do people do the things they do? even when they know what their doing is wrong! i could never work for someone knowing that what i do is hurting people..knowing about it and acting like its no skin off my back because atleast its not happening to me..i seriously wonder how some people sleep at night. i'm just glad everything is going good for her now. batman24, i just may do that...thanks for the advice! stinger530, well im glad to hear your little (umm big boy lol) is doing so well. and i hope you get them grandchildren soon . i agree with motherhood being exhausting at times...im tired as we speak, my little ones have been sick for a week now. momma needs some sleep!! hehe. southern, thanks for the advice also..i kinda figured this wouldn't be easy. life never is, is it? i'll definitely talk to them and send the request in.
