I know I need to buck up and just go for it...but im such a baby...lol idk about the dickies scrubs, i ordered my scrubs online and they are HUGE on me, so i would be no help...lol keep me posted on how its going, you make me think i shouldnt be so nervous, and more like hurry up I wanna do it!...lol
  2. Congrtulations!! I am glad you did it! :w00t::balloons:
  3. You can do this! I just signed up myself for my class, I am a mom to 5 children ages 13-2 and I have my doubts as well. like you, I want to set a good example for my children, I know it will not be easy, but you will feel so good about yourself. This is your chance and you should take it! I was panicking a little last night, thinking what have i got myself into (i already paid my $200 deposit) but when push comes to shove I need to do this for myself. Its time to move on up...lol good luck, keep me posted!:typing
  4. I am glad to see I am not alone in my being nervous. I guess its normal when embarking on new paths in our lives, even when it is something that is very positive and something we have dreamt about doing for so long. I have been a stay at home mom for soo many years and so I am totally going to be coming out of my comfort zone. Which is a good thing, i cannot hide in my house forever..(wait can i?!..lol) I know after I am done with can class I will be going on for the pct, I dont know what will be in store for me after that, I may just want to go right for RN. The unknown is always at least a little scary. Now to just get over that fear....lol
  5. Im glad im not alone!...lol:cheers:
  6. I have been so excited, but all of the sudden today, I am starting to get nervous! idk what happened!...lol I am still excited, but I am just hoping I can do this...lol it has been so long since i have been out in the "real world' i hope I can handle it!...lol
  7. goodmorning. I am paying $998 for my class. I am in NY and it is a private school as well. It includes my books, but scrubs, stethoscope, bp cuff, and any other supplies I need to purchase myself. How long is the course for? $3000 does seem pretty steep to me, but I do understand you are anxious to begin and excited, I am too so I know where you are coming from;). Are there any other schools in your area? I would just look into it more just to be on the safe side. Good luck and keep us posted!
  8. Hello, Im not starting my classes until the 29th, but I am so excited. I know this step is going to be the beginning of a wonderful career path ahead! I got 2 sets of scrubs, they had to be teal. I ordered them online, and I ordered a large and they are so so so so very big. I think I am going to have to go out and buy another pair in a small. I am wondering if they really look all that funny on me, and maybe I could get away with wearing them. I tried to wash and dry a pair to see if they would shrink at all, and they didnt...lol I need to still get a pair of nursing shoes which ill prob. do this weekend. i got my bp cuff and stethoscope, and it was like getting a shiny red bike for xmas! Good luck on your classes, keep me posted on how its going!
  9. Oh hooray! im glad there is someone starting around the same time I am! How long is your class futuresobright? Girl Scout you can watch the pilot episode of nurse jackie on you tube idk if they had the pilot on the showtime website. That show rocks. I cant wait for next monday now!! My mom came over tonight and of course I had to bring her in my bedroom and show off all my new toys I got for class....including my clown suit, she got a kick out of it. I should take a pic and post it on here. My 5 yr old got all excited when i put my scrubs on...he said "you are a doctor now?!!" I said "not yet":p:wink2:
  10. goodmorning, It seems so many of us are using CNA as a stepping stone. I dont even begin my cna class for another 12 days, but right after I finish my cna class, I will be taking phlebotomy as well to become PCT. My cna class is 7 weeks long and so is the phlebotomy. I am sure comes next spring when it is time to take the NET I will be signing up to see if I can get into the LPN program for Fall 2010.
  11. I know I love nurse Jackie, im so addicted to it already! :heartbeat I wish it was longer then a 1/2 hour though. Hawthorne seems pretty good, but def not as good as nurse jackie...lol:bowingpur
  12. Thanks so much for the replies. I swear I feel like a kid on xmas morning with all of this...lol I got my bp cuff and my stethoscope. Our scrubs are teal. I need to get a watch (i know walmart has the best prices dont they?!) I had ordered some shoes as well, but they suck..really bad so im going to invest in a really nice pair. I love new balance as well, they are the only sneaks I have been able to wear for a long time now. I am glad im am not the only one who made the big scrubs mistake...lol nohika- 800 isnt bad at all, at least i dont think so, i am paying 998, then ill pay another 930 for the phlebotomy and ekg class. It was the cheapest and fastest class around so I jumped on it. I am taking an evening class which is m-th 6-10 for 6 weeks then 1 week of clinicals during the day. i will be graduating on August 14th. What day does your class begin on? Is anyone watching the new series Hawthorne, and/or Nurse Jackie? I have Hawthorne on right now...seems pretty good so far.
  13. Hey everyone, I got all my supplies and my scrubs came in today. My scrubs are so big, I look like a clown..LOL!! its so funny. so ill be purchasing some smaller ones...lol other than that im all ready...only 13 more days to go...lol can you tell im excited?!:yelclap:
  14. That is so awesome that you had a great first day!! I dont start my class for another 13 days, but your post has made me even more excited! Keep me posted as to how its going!
