I'm trying to get accepted into St Petersburg College. I know I need a great GPA and all the pre-recs first. Once you have that how long did it take you to get in? Anyone been accepted into the program recently?

I got my letter a few days ago that I did not get accepted. They had over 500 applications for the class and the average GPA of the class was 3.85. There is no waitlist anymore, so you have to reapply each time by the specified date. I hope this helps.

Yes, thats right, no more wait list. I am on the alternate list, but I don't think that will get me anywhere this time around. If you don't get in though you can always try to get in through a hospital. SPC has partnerships with some local hospitals that will put you through the program, but its a 2 year commitment to the hospital after you graduate. I would explore that possibility, but be cautious. As Cop's wife said, the GPA this semester was high than previous semesters and everyone had all their prerequisite courses complete....in previous semesters you could get in without micro, but had to pass it before level 4.
Hope this helps. I would shoot for A's in all prerequisite courses for the best possibility of being admitted 1st time around, which I know is what we all strive for anyway
Good luck to you!!!

do you guys know anything about their BSN program? Is it as hard to get into?
I'm getting my ADN and then hoping to get my BSN from there.

It took me 1 try for the ADN to BSN program and I had an answer by the 3rd day.

I'm interested to know if you guys are applying for their Generic RN program or the LPN to RN Bridge Program?
Thanks.
I applied to their generic program & am an alternate for August. This is my 1st time applying.

I submitted my application for this springs RN class at SPC (January). The deadline was July 1st. Any idea when I might see a letter in my mailbox? I'm going crazy waiting...

No fingernails left on either hand...I'll be starting on my toe nails next...
Sorry about the double post

I also applied for Spring 2009, just in case August doesn't come through. As of last week no processing of applications has been done, but I think they will be doing the 1st round of acceptance for the spring this week.....Not positive about that though. Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

If I do not get into FIU here in miami, I would like to do SPC's RN-BSN option.
But is it difficult to get accepted to it. I have my RN license here in FL, I have a 2.9 GPA but it went down during nursing school where I went straight thru with C's.
Do you think I have chances of getting in?

There's no wait for the transition program. Just have your pre-req's done and you're in.
