Just curious, what's the longest you've waited to be offered a job after an interview????
I interviewed for a position last week. I think it went very well, but she said it would be a few weeks. The suspense is going to kill me!!

Depends on the kind of position management or staff. Personally I have never waited longer than a week to 10 days at tops before i call them. On the other hand I have had an offer phone call beat me home.

Took NCLEX wednesday, interviewed Thurs, offer on Friday, start tomorrow. Rushed because the new nurse orientation starts tomorrow. I would have perferred a few weeks to recover.

A hour. HR person told me as I was heading out the front lobby... sometimes though I had a hospital take ten days... drove me bananas Good luck !!!!
Just curious where did they fit the drug screen in such a short process.
Friday pm and physical
Oh goodness! I hope it doesn't take 10 days. The person I interviewed with said it would be a few weeks because she has to finish all the evals this month for her current employees. It's a county job on top of that so I'm sure everything is a bit slower.
I really, really want this job. I need to get out of the hospital for awhile!

I to am waiting to hear back from the ER manager that I interviewed with six days ago. The suspence is killing me. I thought the interview went exceptionally well, it lasted appx 1 1/2 and then he introduced me to the staff as the potential new grad hire. Good luck to us both

I was hired at my current job the day after graduation but I worked there as a CNA. I applied to a lot of places and turned them down on the hopes of a hospital job in the ER. I filled out an application on Friday, they called Tuesday to set up the interview for the following Friday. Called me on tues and offered me the job and had a physical on the friday. I was all done with it all in 2 weeks and now start orientation. The coolest thing was they hired for 2 positions and a friend from school got the other one. Good luck and dont give up hope. Nancy

I've waited what seems like an inordinately long time between resume submittal and the interview... but between the interview and job offer? Maybe a day or two, tops. Generally facility needs are current and they aren't going to want to wait 'a few weeks' to get you on board.
Even my non-hospital jobs have had a pretty quick turnaround time.

County jobs take a lot longer than other jobs, for example, I have been trying to get in the VA clinic near my house for 6 months, however, they have 72 applicants and 3 spots. So they pick the most qualified candidate, but just interviewing the applicants can take two weeks or more.
The reason county jobs are coveted is while the pay is not always good, the benefits are excellent.
Don't be surprised if they take longer than two or three weeks to contact you.
Good luck!
