I want to continue my education towards BSN as soon as I finish my RN. I plan to work full time while taking classes. How long does it usually take to get my BSN? And if I dare dream, how about that to MSN? I want to be a nurse practitioner one day.

I know where I live, I have found a few online Bridge program that are for a year, well it's 14 months if you do it full time, you only have to go to the campus on the orientation day. I don't remember what the RN- MSN route or BSN-MSN route was.

Some hospitals bring in a university with an accelerated program. One night/week for 18 months. Other than that it will depend on the program and how many credits you are taking each semester.

programs vary tremendously. I've seen RN to BSN in as little as 3 semesters if you have all non-nursing core classes done.

i think the above people are correct... or in the ball park.... it is taking me two years part-time and would have taken me 1 year full-time including the summer months. however, i had already taken pre-reqs and started taking rn-bsn courses prior to graduating my adn program.

I don't know about bridging, but my entry level BSN program was 6 nursing semesters, plus gen-ed requirements. I started in Spring of 2006 and will be finished this upcoming May.

I have a question.
