How long does a call back take?

I graduated in June and got my RN license in August. I just started submitting my resume to companies this week but I am wondering how long after sending it out is the average time to get a call from the facility for an interview?

Honestly, its only been a few days but I'm anxious to start working as a nurse. I'm questioning myself on whether or not my resume was good enough and already revising it.

Any input is appreciated.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it takes as long as it takes. Although this is a big deal for you, it's just another task to juggle for the HR department of hospitals. They may not even feel any sense of urgency about filling a position. Or, you may not get called for an interview the first time around, but none of the people they did interview worked out, so now they're calling the people they passed over the first time. You just don't know.

Be patient, and keep applying for positions; don't put your eggs in just one or two baskets.:) Best wishes!

It can take weeks to months sometimes. It depends on how many applications HR has to go through. Keep applying, and don't get discouraged.

I would also suggest using the time you're waiting to hear back to do practice interviews, or prep in some way. That way when you get the calls, you're ready!

I get so nervous with interviews so the practice will really help while Im waiting. The wait for an interview is worse than the wait for NCLEX results!

Callbacks can take anywhere from minutes to months.

Just keep applying to as many things as you can. Apply to different places at the same time; don't wait until you're rejected by one place before you cast out another line.

And no matter how well an interview goes or how promising things seem to be, you don't stop the job search until you have an official job offer in hand.

Does it look bad to apply to multiple units in one hospital?

I have CVICU experience but would also like to try CCU or SICU.

I applied for 4 jobs at the same hospital. The nurse recruiter asked which one was my top choice and set up an interview for that job (which I got).
