Hello, I am new to the site and I take the NCLEX on Monday, the 17th. I am a nervous wreck but I know it has to be done. Personally, I don't know that I will ever feel completely ready; I just have to have confidence in myself and know that I am competent enough to pass this exam. Believe me, I am broke too!! I pray to GOD everyday for guidance and endurance through this rough time. As long as you study, you will be fine. Please put in a little prayer for me.

None of us ever really feel ready, so I would just say get it done and over with. You'll be glad you did! When do you take your exam????

Kayla, are you a "safe" nurse?? Is your focus on the patient and getting the best outcome for him/her?? Have you brushed up on infection control, ie standard, airborne, droplet, and contact precaution?? Have you practiced prioritizing care questions...do you understand delegation of duties?? Do you remember Maslows, the ABCs, etc??
Then you're ready!!
On my test at least, there were very few "knowledge" questions....it was about 1/3 infection control, 1/3 prioritizing care, 1/3 delegation, and 1/3 the kitchen sink
I was thinking to take it 8/16, but I want to take it right now, cause am so broke, can't wait any more, I wanted to go over my electrolytes, infection control, and priority questions, but am thinking tomorrow, wat do you think?:biggringi

GOOD LUCK!!! You are prolly taking the exam as I post this message, but Im sending luck your way :). Like what the other posts say...if you feel you are ready, do it. There is no point in studying and reviewing everything because when you take the test it feels as though there was no way to prepare.

Good luck Kayla!!!! I definitely know what it's like to be so completely broke and need to work (even if I have to wait 23 more days). I picked the first appointment I could get which was like a month later and I had to make sure I was ready for it no matter what.
Everyone gave you good advice and I hope you did well!
Good luck Kayla. You'll do great!
