How Helpful was the Anatomy coloring book for you?

Published

I'm debating whether I should get the recommended materials such as the anatomy coloring book, and I was just wondering if it was very helpful or maybe not that helpful? Or maybe there was something else that was an even better studying tool?

I just started using mine today--I like it a lot! I'm working on the skeleton right now and it's really helping me learn the shape of the bones and not just the location, which is good when you have to identify a single bone by itself.

We'll see how it goes.

Wow, head start! you're going to do great! A week before my class started I read and made notes and flashcards for the first two chapters of my book, and it helped a lot because the first day of class we started doing the assignments within the book. some people didn't even have their book! I definitely recommend staying ahead! :specs:

The coloring book is a great tool ...I used it last semester, and it was absolutely the reasonm I came out with an A! ( A&PI) It was also a great help during the muscle chapters at learning to distinguish one small muscle from another (like in the forearm). If you use ot often I think you wont regret the purchase at all...I often made extra uncolored copies of pages with tricky areas so I could color them more than once or use them to quiz myself about part names...try to have fun with it~

It is never to early to start brushing up IMO ...and I purchased mine through EBay, but any major chain bookstore may have them, or even your school bookstore ( at ours you had to have an instructor who REQUIRED them to get them, hence my use of EBay )but I would definitely ask them if they carry them first off. Most are between $15 and $30 but well worth the purchase price~

As soon as you can.

I would add a good atlas to the mix. I'm a big fan of Netter but I'm sure there are other good ones.

They are at Barnes and Noble, not in the regular study guide section but the "medical study guide section". That is where I found mine. There are alot of good nursing books there too. A ton of nursing subjects. Mine was a Kaplan one for $19.99. Good luck

I found it helpful. I was able to snag it at my local library's book sale for a dollar, maybe only 50 cents. It had the first few pages colored, but who care for that price. I photocopied the pages to color them over and over and label them. I found it very helpful. Similarly, I found the physio color book but it wasn't as helpful to me.

Check your library book sales - I have found some great resources for next to nothing. Textbooks for a dollar, books I can sell online.. check it out.
