How hard is the new NCLEX 2013 Test Plan

Published

Hi everyone,

To those who passed or failed in the new NCLEX this April, please share your thoughts and experience.

I heard a rumor that there is more SATA questions and less priority questions.

How true is this rumor ?

I took my test july 2013. I had studied hard. I purchased the learning extension, kaplan book read it twice. I did hurstreview lectures and practiced questions on the hursts website. I just learned today that I failed with 265 questions. The test had so many unexpected stuff on there. Diseases that I've never heard of. A lot of meds that I did not know. I would try to see anything familiar such as the ending, lol, lil, am for medications.... and Nothing was familiar there. Also a lot of the drag and drop. questions organizing like steps on how to perform certain procedures. A lot of prioritization questions. Anyways that test is just way too hard and wordy:( Now I need to find money and start studying again and praying harder!

I took my NCLEX-RN on 7/1 at 0800. I'm in CA. Got 75 questions and finished in 45-50 minutes. I checked PV and it said that the results were successfully delivered so I tried the PVT and got the "good" pop up. I don't know if I should begin studying for the re-take. I'm skeptical about PVT.

Someone at the beginning of this thread said they knew someone who got the good pop up and failed. Sigh.

Still no results on my BON and CA doesn't participate in quick results.

I think your good :) all of my friends including myself all have gotten the good pop up and passed. So congrats in advance!!

The PVT definitely works. I took the NCLEX-RN on July 2, 2013- got the "good pop up" 1 hr after the test, and my quick results today indicate that I passed! Four of my friends also took the exam on that day. 3 of them got the "good pop up" and found out they passed today. One got the cc page, and failed. So, it definitely works. Congrats!

My test was also on 2nd july nd got good pop up.but not able to see quick results. They said your results are not available at this time. M feeling so nervous.

It took 48 hours plus 45 agonizing minutes for the quick results to be available to me. If you got the good pop up...relax you probably passed. Keep us updated!

I passed nclex-RN last week in 75 questions in about an hour. I had maybe 10-15 SATA, definitely a few diseases and meds I hadn't heard of. I didn't have any audio questions. Felt like mine had a lot of peds, which I hadn't studies for. I studied OB well and got maybe 2-3. I felt like I was guessing on almost every question, but I didn't spend too much time on one question or read into it. I just went with my first instinct and moved on. To prepare, I studied Hurst for 15 days prior to the exam. PVT worked for me too, got the good popup when I got home.

I took the nclex july 2, i had not taken it before this. I truly believe what kicked my butt was the SATA, which I got a lot of. There were a few meds, absolutely no math. I failed.

Still waiting! It's been 3 days and 5 hrs. I'll let you guys know if the pvt worked for me. I'm sure the holiday is slowing the BON down a bit. Thank you all for the encouragement!

I took my NCLEX yesterday 6/3 I got the good pop up but I am waiting on my official results. I took 75q and took about an hour and 15 minutes. I had about 15-20 SATAs, 1 math, 3 pictures, and 4 drag and drops (FREAKING OUT!). I did a LOT of praying and had a lot of people praying for me. I didn't want to share my entire story until I received my official results! This was my first time taking the exam so I can't compare how it has changed. This is just what I had.

I took mine yesterday (7/3) and had 91 questions. About 20 SATA enough delegation that it sticks out and a lot of conference questions. Tried PvT and took me to the CC page. I have talked to a lot of people and they said the PVT didn't work for them or the holiday is screwing things up. They also said that I was at a higher level of questioning spin should be fine. Any thoughts?
