My wife is about to take her NCLEX and hopefully start job search, She should get her Employment Authorization Card in a few week.
She has BSN from Philippines and about 1.5 years experience, but no US work.
I would like her to work in hospital due the great working hours they provide. Would like to start in Plano Presby off Parker or maybe the new Baylor Hospital off 380 in McKinney. But probably will take anything close due to get actual US experience.
How the job outlook in this area?

She may have to call the Nurse Recruiter to get a real view of the options without giving too much information. Maybe just say coming other country with close to 2 years exp. Also she may have to start low and maybe home health or nursing agency or maybe an internship program. The money might not be the best at first but once she gets her foot wet, it will climb. Baylor usually have a lot of Philippines that work on weekends only 7-7. Maybe check out a Filipino welcome group who helps transition over to the States.

Job outlook is not great.
One position may have 100+ applicants at some facilities. Having a BSN and some experience may help, but as said above, don't count on a hospital job right away (but she may get lucky).
The larger metro areas in Texas have a lot of new grads coming out, so larger markets are saturated with nurses.

Pretty hard. Her best odds would be to network with the Filipino community already in place here in DFW to see if anyone will help her get her foot in the door. However, if she will need employer sponsorship to work in the US her odds are very poor. There are enough unemployed nurses here to make an employer unlikely to be willing to pay the sponsorship fees.
She can marginally improve her odds if she is willing to work night shift.

She does not require sponsorship due to her coming on K1 (Fiance Visa). She has meet about 4 other nurses that came from PHilppines and I am telling her that network is probably the best way to get a job.
My buddy wife from Philippines has 3 years experience in Philippines, About 8 months ago she passed her NLCEX and got a job in Irving Las Colinas Baylor starting at $29.50 per hour.
What would be the rate of pay that my wife should be looking for? 25.00 per hour?

New grads at Baylor start off around $24.50 if that helps...not sure how much credit she would get with experience in the Phillipines but $24.50 should be the minimum.
Networking definitely will make things easier if any of them are willing to give her a recommendation. There are a lot of employed Filipino nurses in the DFW area.
As far as salary, it varies pretty significantly depending on the employer. HCA pays the lowest.

Hi just want to ask about your wife? Is she working now as a nurse?
