Nurses are known for not caring enough for themselves, leading to burn out. Just looking for ideas on what you do to stay sane (as a relative term of course) ;)

Eat small frequent snacks, drink plenty of water, walk the dog/pilates/elliptical, sleep 7-8 hrs, and keep work/home separate. I enjoy my co-workers at work but do not socialize with them off the clock as I know this always turns into shop talk.

Every three months I go on a mini-vacay.

I exercise, eat well, sleep well, don't internalize things and when situations cause me stress, I work through it.

I have a great family, and I good support. I also love going out, having fun, church, volunteering..generally having a happy life outside of work.

I strive for balance.

That's the key.
