first you must register at board of nursing , depend on what region you wnat to live. and in canada you must have a job offer

You will need to apply to the province you wish to live in, meet their requirements of foreign trained nurse and pass CRNE if you get permission to sit the exam

CRNE is only taken 3 times a year in Canada and you will find most employers will prefer a pass although some will accept you if going through the process but will expect a pass on the exam to continue with the work permit

Can one take CRNE outside of Canada? say the US? Will most of the hospitals approve an RN certificated in the US?

Nope it can only be taken in Canada. Hospitals do not approve it is the province nursing body that decide and all depends on their requirements and how many hours you have done in your training. I do not think ADN will meet requirements

Canada is a completely separate country from the US and they do not recognize the NCLEX exam, you will need to write their licensing exam.

Does not matter where you trained, you will need to seek approval from the nursing board for the province that you are interested in, and then write the exam.

And their provinces function just like the states do here, each has their own licensure requirements.

Thanks Suzanne and Silverdragon102 for the response!

You are quite welcome.

Welcome to the site

You will need to apply to the province and they will make a decision to whether you need to make anything up. Same goes for Australia and some have mentioned bridging course for Australia. You will need to sit CRNE and that has to be done in Canada and is only done 3 times a year. Costs will be what ever the province requires, cost of traveling to Canada to sit the exam, and then cost of finally moving depends on how many and what you are looking for accommodation etc.

hi!

another follow-up..

sorry if I will ask the same questions, I just want to ask questions my way..

I am a registered nurse in the Philippines. I'm about to enter Canada (British Columbia) in months time but not as a nurse but under a different work. I am planning to pursue my profession once I get there, my problem is I don't have a work experience at hospitals. Will it be easier to process everything when I'm there? Anyone who knows the requirements in BC? I know I have to sit on a CRNE, but what else should be done? Do I have to continue studying because I don't have a required work experience?

Any replies that would answer my query will be very much appreciated.

Thank you very much
