Hello everyone! Quite confused. Why is CGFNS not asking for my diploma? Dont they need it? Or should my school still mail it? Thankyou so much!

@iirnited: Were you able to get licensed here in VA? I have a CES report sent to Virginia Board of Nursing as a requirement of my CA license endorsement to VA. What did VA BON said about your CES report, did they accept it. I graduated from the Philippines.

Oh yeah my bad. I left that very important info out. Sorry. I am a second courser that's why I had to identify my previous school in my application. Just indicate the school where you finished your BSN degree, mjntaurus is right. Your transcripts should reflect all the credentials you got from your previous school anyways.

I am also a second courser. Does my first course needs to be evaluated since my basic sciences like chemistry and physics were credited in my nursing?

Hi!

My name is Claire. I am a french nurse and I applied on CGFNS in Febuary. They received all the documents a few days ago and now my status is "ready for reviews".

I chose the expedited service review so it shouldn't be too long until the report is sent to the BON.

My boyfriend lived in Arkansas, but I coulnd't apply to the Arkansas BON because they need a US SSN which I don't have yet. So I have chosen to apply to the Colorado BON. We have friends there and my boyfriend will be able to work there maybe... If not, I am planning on asking for a licensure by endorsement in Arkansas when I'll have a work visa a so a US SSN.

Anyway, I have a question about my application. What if Colorado decides that I don't have enough hours in one of the specialities? Where and how can I take courses?

I would like to be ready if it happens and I have no idea about what to do if they tell me that I have to take more courses....

Do you think you can help me? I hope you understood everything because my english is not perfect!

Thank you so much in advance for your answer :)

I'm looking into applying for NCLEX too. I was denied by the California BON due to discrepancies in my college's curriculum, which I do not understand. My sister graduated from the same institution in 1997 and she's been a nurse in California for 11 years now. I then resorted to applying in Northern Marianas and they require a CES from CGFNS. I too, do not have a Philippines RN license because I was migrating to the US at that time. I didn't have the chance to take the test and because I expected to not take the licensure examination in the Philippines, I didn't complete my 25 cases. I think I lacked 7. Now, my concern is... When I go through this CES, will they, at some point, request for a PRC approved list of my 25 cases? Because I'm not sure if I can complete it or have my clinical instructors sign for it, since I'm already here in the US. :( HELP!

what does it mean when CGFNS post in the status area meets all program requirments and mailed? is that a good thing?

Hi there! I noticed in the thread that you're applying in Nevada. I live in Vegas and was wondering about your application because I'm thinking of applying in NV BON. Which school did you graduate in in the Philippines and did they need a list of the clinical cases? I hope you can respond ASAP. I'm really worried about this. Thank you.

You may want to re-post your concerns as a new and separate topic to draw more replies. Good luck!

Read the many topics here on why the majority of PH students and nurses trying to get their ATT or get their licenses or work and practice in CA is now going to be near impossible for many years to come.

I'm surprised the CA BON also didn't reject the application for lack of providing the local PH license, which is a requirement for the last couple of years.

As of Jan. 1, 2013, NV BON now needs proof of the local country's nurse license. Try NY or TX. Good luck!

Oh, one option if you must make CA your desired state is to try the LVN-RN route (many reads and step by step guides are posted just need to read them on this section). It's got its issues also such as length time to get in, cost, competition, etc.

There are a few CA schools offering needed courses also not easy, but can try, many reads also here.
