How to Apply for NYU 15-Month Program

Published

Hi, I'm applying to the accelerated NYU program for January and am wondering which essay questions to fill out. For some reason, I think it's only the 4 personal statements and then essay D (for transfer students), but I can't find where I read that so I'm not sure if this is correct! Does anyone know which statements/essays to fill out?

Thanks!

Btw, congrats everybody!! :-)

Just curious when everyone applied? I was contacted by someone in the admission office because they didn't receive one of my transcripts and they wanted to know when I would be finished one of my courses. Is that a good sign?

Congrats everybody!!! I got into NYU Spring Semester 2010 today too! Even though I am doing the regular 2nd degree - can I join this happy discussion as well?

Wishing everybody the best and good luck to everyone who has not heard back yet!

Of course, welcome! Not much of a discussion though...

Was wondering, did anyone get their financial aid package yet?

As far as tution:

Fall and Spring Semesters are: $18,293.00 each

Summer is: $13,000

The 18 month program is two springs, one fall and one summer, so total tution for the entire program is approximately $68,000 not including books or anything else.

Also, you are not guaranteed positions at NYU medical center after graduation but they will assist you with job placement. You might even have a slight edge over other applicants, MAYBE but other than that it's pretty much fair game for jobs.

Guiltysins is the tuition for the 18program the accelerated option or is this for the regular transfer second degree program. I applied for the transfer second degree program and want to get an idea of the cost.

Thanks guiltysins. By the 18 month program, you mean the 15 month program right? Or are they separate programs?

Would you or anyone else know where the clinical sites are? And if there are education abroad opportunities? Oh, and scholarships/ grants from NYU?

I'm waiting for a call back from NYU. Theres so little info on their website!

Forgot: Does anyone know how many were accepted? And how big they expect the class size to be? Or the clinical/lecture instructor to student ratio?

Thanks!!

Does anyone know how long they usually take to send your financial aid package after you receive the acceptance letter? I called the financial aid office and they said i was going to get it sometime last week but i didn't

To answer a few questions -

- You can study abroad during winter intersession in either Florence or Buenos Aires...at a cost, of course.

- There are about 200 students in each class from what I know, combination of aBSN and traditional, although mostly the former.

- Clinicals all over the New York City area, including the boroughs.

- Cost of attendance, NOT INCLUDING housing, comes to around $70,000. The dorms run from $13,000-$18,000 per YEAR, if you choose NYU housing. There are a few (maybe like four or five) scholarships but the highest one only grants 18 thousand but with some strings attached. There are three others that offer around $10,000...

I am applying and attended the open house so Im just giving some info that I learned there! I guess I'm literally going for broke ;-) Help!

Hi!

Just wanted to let everybody know I spoke with the NYU Financial Aid Office and they were very helpful (much nicer than the Bursar's Office). They said to call them back as soon as I receive my Student Aid Report from the FAFSA people. Once FAFSA has emailed/shipped that report the NYU Financial Aid Office can pull up the information and discuss what the next steps will be and what aid you will receive. The officer I spoke to tried looking up my information but I am still waiting on the FAFSA report - (I applied a little late- whoops).

They also asured me that I have still have time to get my aid and payment plans organized as the first payments are not due until Jan. 8th (I believe) - and the Bursar's Office said the first bill will be sent out the second week in December.

Just thought I would let everybody know that I found the call supportive and if you are stressed I would give them a call and hopefully you get Jill. She is great.

Cheers!

Hey guys,

I also was accepted for the spring 2010 accelerated program. I sent my deposit in and hopefully they will send some more info. I am soo happy I was accepted!

Have you guys thought of housing options? I am from PA, so I will be moving into the city. I'm thinking about looking for an apt... hopefully with other Accelerated BSN students. If anyone is from nyc and has any info about this, or wants to get an apt, let me know!
