Hi, I'm applying to the accelerated NYU program for January and am wondering which essay questions to fill out. For some reason, I think it's only the 4 personal statements and then essay D (for transfer students), but I can't find where I read that so I'm not sure if this is correct! Does anyone know which statements/essays to fill out?
Thanks!
Yes filled it out in June for a few schools. It's not too bad just answer all the question. The only problem I run into is making sure your demographics match the social security number. Hopefully your expected family contribution (EFC) is low because it will determine how much aid you will get. I am going to apply for as many scholarships that I can!
Hi guys, I a, applying for Spring 2010 also-I just finished my application online (ugh those questions were insane-I had no idea what whey wanted to see, so I deliberated on them for weeks!) and will be sending my transcripts this week and my letter of recommendation should also be going out soon. I didn't try for the priority deadline because I wanted to attend the october 5 Open House before submitting my application. I also have been in touch with Lindsay Sutton-she was actually at the Open House.
Anyway, I wanted to see if either of you heard anything yet about your applications and your thoughts on getting in?
I am so nervous-really trying not to think about it!
Good luck to both of you!
Nothing yet. They will send you an email with and attachment asking about the prerequisites. I am a little nervous too because my undergrad was not so great. How was the open house? It was full by the time I wanted to go, but I spoke with Linsay over the phone and she gave me an overview. Are you in New York? Have you figured out how you will pay for this? I'm still wondering.
Thanks-I too am worried about my previous college GPA (I applied as a typical transfer student as I never completed my Bachelor's in college-I was studying IT-I hated it!) my GPA wasn't very high, either, I got good marks in a lot of my courses, but a few bad marks in the computer related courses, so I hope they will look at the fact that I just hated studying computers and not fault me for the hoprrible grades from those classes!
I was surprised at the Open House because there were certainly open chairs. I suppose some people registered and did not make it-I did not bring anyone with me because I didn't want to take up the space for a possible Nursing hopeful with a tag-a-long for myself.
At the Open House they really just went into the Application process....I didn't get the opportunity to ask the specific questions myself because afterwards she allowed people to speak one-on-one with her and there was a huge line-and you could hear the questions-a LOT of the people kept asking questions that she went over more than once in the presentation-it was frustrating, LOL
So, you probably didn't miss important information at the Open House-I am sure Lindsay can answer all of your queries if you still have any.
Keep me posted!
Hey, I just found this thread!
I just received my acceptance letter, though now I am trying to decide! No info on financial aid or what yet (plus I don't know yet if I even have the money for food/housing in NYC much less the tuition!), so we'll see.
I'm trying to debate the pros and cons!

Hey all!
I got into NYU too, for Spring 2010. Is there a FB page started for our cohort? I have SOO many questions, esp. since I never had a chance to visit. (How much is tuition? Are there jobs lined up for us at NYU's medical center after graduation?)
Feel free to email me. Let me know if I should start a Spring 2010 group on FB.
