I always dilute it, but oddly, I have never pushed it that slow. I will have to check into that.

I slam it in fast and hard like adenosine and then slowly push naloxone as needed until the desired pain relief is needed.

I don't tend to dilute 2mg carpuject doses IF the pt has a NSS or other IVF running. I push it very slowly into one of the line ports (usually over a couple of minutes, like Leslie said, there's always something to do).

If I want to dilute or divide a dose out of a carpuject, we have this little red gizmo that looks sorta like a Star Wars thingy that we are supposed to use to connect a syringe (or a saline flush) to the carpuject and withdraw the carpuject contents. We were told that we can be accused of tampering with narcotics if we use a regular blunt fill needle and not this red device to withdraw from the carpujects. Not sure why one is OK and the other isn't, but I do what I'm told - especially since our Joint Commission visit is long overdue!

Ours comes in vials.

Like many others I tend to dilute MS before pushing it slow; and for my drug seeking, rush seeking patients I push it even s-l-o-w-e-r.
