Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Published

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Has anybody heard anything from Methodist-TMC? (Acute care program) if so, when?

I had my interview with a med-surg unit yesterday. Waiting to hear back from them. I really liked the unit and felt like that's where I belong to.

Was it for the acute care program?

I only applied to the acute care program. The lady asked me my 3 preferences, Med-Surg was my first one so I got an interview with them, I assume.

I’m going too

Those of yall going to St Luke, do yall know how the process will work? It says to bring 12 copies of your resume but no details on if you're interviewing with the unit you preferred

“Our format is an expedited behavioral based interview process which includes meeting with 6 panels.

Once the interview rounds are completed, our leaders will individually rank your performance on the interview question they ask and make a recommendation for your hire or suitability in a particular area. Leaders will also have access to the information from your preference sheet regarding preferred units, locations, and shifts.”
