Houston Residencies Summer 2019!!

Can you believe applications have started opening up? Anyway, just an early start for everyone to discuss.

I'm planning on applying to Harris Health, Memorial Hermann, Methodist, & TCH, and I will be applying to multiple locations for each. I'm trying to decide if I should branch out and apply at some places out of state or not since I want a very demanding specialty, but I'm not necessarily ready to uproot my family just for my residency. I'm open to suggestions or thoughts from others who have been through this part of the experience already.

Was this the same prescreeing interview that everyone went to? If it is, I haven’t heard anything either (although I did interview with Methodist West at the event). It wouldn’t hurt to email them.

I had a virtual prescreening interview. They told me I'd hear back in 2 weeks but nothing yet.

I also did the FaceTime prescreen for Methodist TMC. The recruiter said we’d hear back for 2nd interviews by March 22nd.

I graduated in December. After the interviews it took about 2 days and the recruiter reached out to me with an offer!

I applied and then the system said I was not qualify to apply for the residency program. Congratulations! Did you accept the offer? Which unit?

Just applied to MD Anderson and got a reject letter 5 seconds after... saying it was from how I answered the prescreening questions lol are you kidding?

Also, anyone hear back from MH Memorial City?

does anyone know how would we fix the whole MD anderson residency thing? I tried to contact HR and have not heard back and it’s been weeks... I am qualified and just put It wrong and got a rejection email seconds after.

I received my rejection letter from them last week. So if you have not heard anything I would say you are still on the good side.
