Houston Nurse Residency Winter/Spring 2024

Published

Hi everyone! I will be graduating with my BSN this semester and I'm applying for residencies in the Houston area. I already applied to Houston Methodist but wanted to hear about other programs that might be interesting. Best of luck!

It was shared through my school email that I still have access to. I'll share anything else that comes through as well.

Can you share the link that's on it? So I can register? Thank you!

Let me know if this works. If you can't click it, try copying and pasting into your browser.

Has anyone accessed information regarding when Texas Children's applications open or if there are any hiring events scheduled. TIA.

It did work! Thank you, I didn't realize it was only for med surg, so I won't be attending LOL

I've been stalking the website. This was recently added on their Nurse Residency page.

Do y'all think it's common for people who graduated in December to attend this as well? Not just those that graduate this May.

Absolutely! I attended an open house/job fair before I even graduated. Go after any opportunity you're interested in!

current new grad rates/residency (tmc based):

mh: $35

st luke's: $33

hca: $31.50

tch: $35.53 ($12 ICU differential)

VA: $38

md anderson: $36

that's crazy cause I got an offer HCA outside of the tmc and it's $33.50 + $4 nights — Also the nurse residency coordinator for MH said the starting pay for each location is $34 and then goes to $35 after 6 months

Yea I accepted an offer at MDA for $40+ 3.50 night diff but it maybe the unit im on

When did you apply for MDA? I have been stalking their page, but I'm hoping I didn't miss the window for applying

Hi Guys! I also applied to various new grad programs in HTX. I am an out-of-state applicant and hope that doesn't put me at a disadvantage LOL. I'm interested in maternity, specifically L&D and Mother Baby. Good luck everyone!

P.S: Is it when the applications are closed recruiters/hospitals will start to look at applications and reach out? Just making sure I shouldn't freak out if my application statuses still say they have been received but have not been changed to "reviewed" or anything else.
