Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2020

Hi, I'm interested in moving to Houston and applying to Memorial Hermann and Houston Methodist's nurse residency programs for the fall start dates. I was wondering if someone could clarify whether letters of recommendation are due with the applications or requested later during the interviewing stages? Thanks so much in advance!

It’s different hospital to hospital. For Memorial Hermann I attached them with the initial application, for Methodist it’s like a 2 step application process you do a more general one first and then you apply again after they contact you to interview. I think I submitted my letters of rec both times but I’m not 100% sure. If you don’t have your letters of rec I would get them ASAP because depending on your instructor it could take weeks to get back sometimes. I started gathering them over Winter break for February applications.

I didn’t actually apply there. I applied to med surg for Southwest a couple of weeks ago and after I interviewed with med surg the director referred me to the director at HVI. I interviewed with HVI last week

If u havent gotten an offer anywhere reach out to your recruiter, they will know if theres anything available in the entire system

I think both MH and Methodist closed their residency apps in like Feb or March, I know they each had their apps open for only one week

I didn’t get one and neither did my other friends that are having interviews with them. It kinda worries me...

By “this week” do you mean just today since it’s Sunday.. aka the first day of the week?

The weekly touchpoint emails? The last one I got was last Wednesday (the 29th).
