Houston Nurse Residency Summer 2021 Applicants

I wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying to Houston new grad nurse residency programs to ask questions and share information.

I recently graduated and passed my NCLEX. I am focused on applying for houston methodist and harris health hospitals, but I'm open to where ever there is a job position. I am mostly interested in telemetry and med surg with telemetry being number one. I have been searching everyday for residency programs.

I'll also be applying for a Summer 2021 residency. My number 1 choice is MD Anderson.

Hey, guys. I'm interested in the residency programs at Methodist, St. Lukes, and HCA. I'm a bit unsure how the residency application works at HCA since the current NewGrad positions posted all say they begin in the "first quarter of 2021".

My school had a webinar with the new grad recruiter from HCA and she said the application for the Summer cohort will open in March.

update: I ended up getting an offer from Memorial Hermann for a nurse residency position on a med surg unit ?

I know Children's Memorial hermann residency app doesn't open til Feb 14th

thank you so much! I think it should still be open, I applied around the 5th or 6th of this month and I have had 2 Interviews with 2 different branches between the 7th and today (21st). I believe I initially applied for it on indeed.

On the Memorial Hermann website it says "Applications for the next Nurse Residency Cohort will be accepted February 14-21, 2021 for those expecting to graduate from nursing school in May 2021".

Did you apply for the cohort that starts in February?

Also, congratulations! That's so exciting!

thank you so much! and yes my start date is in February. I graduated in December of 2020.

Thanks for clearing that up!! I was about to pass out thinking I missed applications for the Summer cohort.
