Hello! I created this thread for those graduating in December who are applying to nurse residency programs in Houston for the Spring 2021 start date. Good luck everyone!!
Hey guys! ?
I have been following this thread for a while now and have been reading all of yalls journeys with interviews and job acceptances. I would just like to applaud all of you! Congratulations! ?
I personally have been struggling in landing an interview. Do you guys have any tips/advice for my resume to help stand out in applications? Also, when you guys are inputing work experience in job applications, do you also include clinical experience along with your paid work experience? Just would like to know yalls input. Thank yall!

I’d be happy to take a look at your resume and give you some tips!
one of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever received was to never make your resume longer than one page. Also, include an about me section that’s about a sentence or two long.
definitely include your work experience and clinical experience.

OMG thank you!! See, I heard a lot of mixed things about resumes. People either told me to do one page only and then others told me to ignore the one page myth because you really want to show off your experience.
I would love to have you look over. How may get in touch with you?

My classmate sat in on a hiring meeting at one of the hospitals in San Antonio during clinical and she said that they weren’t even looking at resumes if they were longer than a page. It’s harsh but these people have so many applicants that they don’t have time for anything more. They even asked her how long her resume was and she said it was only one page and they said good.
