Houston Nurse Residency Fall 2024

Hi! I'm graduating this August and plan on applying to positions in Houston in women's health and pediatrics. I wanted to create a thread so everyone can stay up to date on applications/interviews for the October 2024 Cohorts. Good luck!

Is anyone planning to apply to Houston Methodist residency program for fall? If so, do yall know which units will be hiring because I received info from my school about a virtual open house for May 23rd and it only mentioned med-surg units will be there

I plan on applying but only med surg? heck nah 😕 I already work med surg

I don't want to start in med surg, but I assumed at least their acute and critical care units would be there along with OR, etc.

when I applied in the Spring, I saw med surg, er, and l&d. I believe the Summer was med surg, ICU, and l&d. im really hoping l&d is available this time around and that's where I apply on applying (this is all for the baytown location)

I'm planning to apply to the TMC location, but I'm not sure of the available options for the fall. The meeting is for med surg units at the TMC location

When the applications open each location will list what units they're hiding. Some did hire more diverse units, but some offered very few. TMC over the Summer was hiring acute care and some critical care, including OR.

I hope they do not base our performance off the general reasoning section on the behavioral assessment because I didn't not finish LOL. Some of those questions threw me for a loop.

Houston Methodist application opens up next Friday and Harris Health opens up on May 27th
