Houston Nurse Residency Fall 2024

Hi! I'm graduating this August and plan on applying to positions in Houston in women's health and pediatrics. I wanted to create a thread so everyone can stay up to date on applications/interviews for the October 2024 Cohorts. Good luck!

For those of you who have accepted positions - what kind of units will you be working on?

I have a question, I know if you have IMU experience it's easier to get into an ICU position or ED position, will working at a stroke unit help ease getting a position either at ICU or ED?

Anyone know exactly what the programs are looking for? I am wondering if I should change careers as I don't know if I'll be accepted next cohort.

Also HCA website says the job fair on the 21st says Galen College of Nursing students only. The 28th seems to be the same but I'm not sure. Thoughts?

Memorial Hermann application opens from September 8th through the 15th

Houston Methodist is open August 26 - September 9th

Do y'all plan on applying for the February 2025 cohort if you didn't get the unit of choice or no residency at all?
