Hi! I'm graduating this August and plan on applying to positions in Houston in women's health and pediatrics. I wanted to create a thread so everyone can stay up to date on applications/interviews for the October 2024 Cohorts. Good luck!

The job. The environment is okish. I just don't like IMCU. I'm very stressed here.

Did you start back in February? You have to decide if the stress is worth getting that year residency completed or not. If you're 1/2 there, and you can manage it, finish then find your dream job. I'd look into therapy to help manage your stress/relieve anxiety and make the most of your days off. Good luck to you whatever you decide. ❤️

I'm at the Southeast location.

I started in June 🥲 this is only week 7 for me. I did talk to someone here that works with the new grads and they can try to switch me into a women's cohort, but he just doesn't know when. I could do home health while waiting. I'm just not sure whether I should or shouldn't. Thank you 🫶🏼

Oh wow. If you're that miserable after just 7 weeks then leaving might be the best thing. I hope they can get you into women's really soon!

It's a step-down unit, in between ICU and med-surg. I see patients that are higher acuity than med-surg but not at an ICU level. It's a good unit if you want experience bc you do everything and have less patients than you do in med-surg (we max at 5). I've been told multiple times I can travel up and down any unit bc I will learn a lot. It is, however, technically critical care, and I am just not a critical care nurse LOL.
