Houston Nurse Residency Fall 2024

Published

Hi! I'm graduating this August and plan on applying to positions in Houston in women's health and pediatrics. I wanted to create a thread so everyone can stay up to date on applications/interviews for the October 2024 Cohorts. Good luck!

I got the email yesterday afternoon

Does anyone know how much clinics tend to pay? I'm thinking of applying to some bc I am struggling at my unit 😭

for my follow up questions they asked before selecting me for an interview I went into a lot of detail.. personal experience with family members with cancer, clinical experience with oncology patients, and although I don't have research experience I just explained why I think its important to me. also, in my interview they asked questions like why I want to move to houston and work at md anderson, give an example of a time you had to write detailed data collection and what the scenario was like, a lot of questions on cultural competency and communication. there were members from several departments but  I was informed they only have 3 slots available. so very competitive I guess.

not sure which clinic you're looking to work at. KSB recruiter specifically told me that they are not hiring new grads, and they hope to have a new grad residency next year

Thank you for the info! You were very detailed and it is appreciated. Sounds like you did a phenomenal job in your interview. 👏🏻👏🏻Are you already working as a nurse?

no I am not, but I did accept a position in Louisiana in case texas doesn't workout as a new grad!
