houston hospital rn benefits question

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone, Im planning to move to Houston,Tx but im just wondering if there are hospitals that covers 100% of enployee's medical including spouse and children. I dont want to pay a premium every month. I am currently employed in CA and i dont pay monthly premium for health insurance as my employer covers me and my family 100%. Is there such hospital that does that in houston?

I know for sure Memorial Hermann and Houston Methodist require a monthly contribution to medical / dental insurance. Maybe MD anderson or the public Harris county system pays 100%, not sure

thanks for your insight.. anybody working in a houston hospital that covers 100% medical insurance for employee and family?

There aren't any Houston hospitals that cover 100% of medical insurance. The hospital that comes close is MD Anderson, but they only cover health insurance for the employee, not family.

thanks for the reply.. how much is the usual premium per person? i have a kid and my spouse

I believe it's about $250 a month.

wow that's $750 a month for 3 people then?

Sorry, I meant $250 total. For the a spouse and child(ren).

cool thanks.. any other insights from other nurses working in houston with 100% medical insurance for employee and family?

As Mofo said, there are no hospital systems that cover 100% healthcare costs. Probably not many businesses in the country that do that anymore.

One thing you need to remember, the cost of living is a lot cheaper in Texas, so even though you will probably be making less per hour than in Cali, you will have more "free" cash, and paying for health coverage will not be a big impact.
